Internal Sales Executive - Blackpool

The Internal Sales Executive is responsible for generating sales opportunities and developing relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role contributes to the growth of the Glasdon UK – Environmental Products division across identified key market sectors. The role combines proactive outbound sales activity with account management and quotation creation and follow-up to achieve sales, new business growth, and customer retention objectives.
This is primarily an office-based role, focused on proactive customer engagement, opportunity development, and supporting growth within designated market sectors. Working closely with the Customer Support team, the Internal Sales Executive will identify opportunities, qualify customer requirements, and deliver solutions that support the customers’ objectives. Occasional travel is required to attend exhibitions and industry events.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks
Sales Development
- Proactively contact prospective customers by telephone, email, and digital channels to generate new business within designated market sectors.
- Qualify enquiries, identify customer needs, and recommend and quote suitable products, using benefit-led selling to differentiate Glasdon products.
- Carry out product demonstrations in the dedicated on-site showroom for both in-person and remote customers.
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities in the CRM system and follow up quotations to maximise conversion.
Account Management
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers to increase repeat business.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the Glasdon portfolio through regular customer engagement.
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of accounts.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity in the CRM system.
Lead Management
- Respond promptly to inbound enquiries and convert marketing-generated leads into sales opportunities.
- Work with the Group Marketing Department to support campaigns, promotions, and sector-focused initiatives.
Customer Support
- Prepare quotations and proposals accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve customer queries promptly, liaising with internal departments where necessary, to ensure a positive customer experience.
Team Collaboration
- Attend exhibitions and industry events to represent Glasdon and generate new business.
- Share market intelligence, competitor information, and customer feedback with colleagues.
- Interpret sales reports, market trends, and relevant legislation to identify opportunities.
Key Objectives
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales revenue targets within designated market sectors.
- Increase revenue across identified markets.
- Generate an agreed number of new business opportunities each quarter, building a strong pipeline of qualified leads that convert to sales.
- Achieve an agreed quotation-to-order conversion rate.
- Maintain agreed levels of sales activity (calls, demonstrations, and customer contacts) and record accurately within the CRM systems.
- Develop strong product, sector, and market knowledge relevant to environmental products.
- Meet or exceed agreed customer satisfaction and retention measures.
- Ensure ways of working align with company values, policies, and standards.

- Experience in an internal sales, telesales, account management, or business development role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence customers and close sales opportunities.
- Confidence in delivering both in-person and online product demonstrations.
- Strong commercial awareness and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competent in the use of CRM systems and standard IT/Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to sell using features and benefits.

- Full UK driving licence.
